After reading one too many dystopian novels, I read The Nark to mix things up and am glad I did. The overall story, a mix of crime and romance, among other things, kept me interested throughout. I felt invested in the characters, especially Greg, within the first chapter. I liked the character of Kelly and how her socks were "pink enough to be noticed ". For me little details like this throughout the story made the characters distinctive in my mind. Since this is a new author I was so glad to see paperback copies available, since I collect books. Overall, I really liked this book and I hope to see another from this author sometime soon.
This is a great “get to the point” crime thriller filled with interesting and thought provoking characters and personalities. It introduces psychotic villains and wanna-be heroes who save the day. It’s chilling with some interesting twists.
The Nark delves deep into the un-glamorous life of a police informant. I like the way it turns crime novels on it's head by telling the story from a unique point of view. The story line becomes more and more gripping as it picks up pace and I couldn't stop thinking about the ending for ages after I'd finished reading! Highly recommended. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Absolutely taken by this book!
The author had me up for several late nights reading this story. It begins by introducing an informant who works with crime fighters to help catch criminals and as the story unfolds the element of romance and the blend of mystery hooks the reader. Greg, the informant is trusted by criminals as well and that makes the story even more interesting because he's able to get inside and provide enough helpful information to make police happy. He may be underpaid but he's certainly my favorite character throughout the story. I adore shorter men but this character comes out on top as the man leading the tale. I really hope Wyatt Grondin plans to bring another story like this one to us soon. I'll be one of the first in line to read it!!!
